Colin is an experienced designer with over a decade of crafting commercially successful products for a range of brands, from boutique names to mass market retailers. His career began in a two-man woodshop in Western Colorado, where he honed his skills building bespoke furniture. Later, he led product design and development for Williams-Sonoma Business-to-Business and has designed for notable clients like west elm, Pottery Barn, Starbucks, Marriott, and Hudson Valley Lighting. Driven by a desire for creative independence and a commitment to sustainable design, Colin founded Studio Doris.

Our newest spacemaking collection is designed for creating outdoor communal gathering places which connect people with nature. Cast in lightweight concrete, thoughtful shapes inspire multi-functional environments. Versatile and timeless, perfect for stylish promenades, plazas, parks, campuses, and rooftops. This collection includes a planters, benches, and platforms, each designed to interact with the others creating a toolkit of interlocking products.
Lino Chair
A classic café chair with a commitment to sustainability.
With a focus on minimal environmental impact, the Lino Chair’s design is as philosophical as it is aesthetic. The chair is built using sustainably harvested hardwood and bio-based furniture linoleum reducing the embodied carbon of its raw materials. Manufactured in Italy by skilled artisans, the structure is built to withstand years of commercial use while the linoleum seat and back protect the most vulnerable surfaces to extend its useful life.
The Lino Chair was nominated for the 2021 Hospitality Design Award for Sustainable Solutions.

Gable is an all-aluminum family of tables and chairs designed to set the gold standard for durability within west elm's contract-grade assortment. The sinterstone tabletop is stain-resistant and bleach-cleanable, while the aluminum frames offer corrosion resistance and lightweight functionality. Aesthetically modern yet friendly, this family suits a variety of interiors. Gable remains a cornerstone of west elm B2B’s performance products.
Slope Stacking Chair
A modern, outdoor take on a classic shell chair.
Designed to last, engineered to perform. This contract-grade chair features a solid steel construction and stacks 10 high. The slatted seat surface naturally drains water, while the complex curves of the slats enhance comfort. This chair was an instant success at launch and continues to be a workhorse.
